V.I.V.A. certification (Environment Impact Assessment of viticulture)

The prestigious certification V.I.V.A., attributed to sustainable wines of very few Italian wineries, is a project promoted by the Italian Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea which thanks to DNV GL, a leading global certification organization, registered the sustainability performance of our winery.

A long and complex process in order to obtain the certification, where each crucial element to draw the impact of the production process - Air, Water, Wine and Territory - is explored in all its aspects, following a strict technical regulation which taks into account the methodologies, the control systems and core values that the company persues in terms of sustainability.

A path that indicates "sustainable wines" produced without harming the territory. A certification obtained by Cantina Settecani in 2016, among a resticted number of Italian wineries that have chosen sustainability as a primary value.
The project V.I.V.A. (Environment Impact Assessment of viticulture) was developed by the Ministry in collaboration with a consortium of major research institutions (Agroinnova University of Turin, the Opera Center for Sustainable Agriculture at the Catholic University of Milan and the center for Biomass Research at the University of Perugia) and with the support of DNV GL.
